Kim Crawford wines started out in a small Auckland cottage in New Zealand. Since its launch in 1996, the label has gained critical acclaim around the globe. We do things unconventionally, take risks, start things, and welcome different.

100% Pinot Noir

Appellation
South Island, New Zealand

Background
New Zealand’s pristine landscape, diverse soil types, and maritime climate with cool summers and mild winters create an ideal environment for growing wine grapes. The secret to Kim Crawford’s success is serious attention to detail in the vineyards and winery, with a special focus on sustainable practices, individual vineyard block harvesting, and small lot fermentation.

Vinification
A unique blend from two of New Zealand’s most significant Pinot Noir regions: maritime Marlborough and continental Central Otago. The grapes were destemmed, cold soaked for five days, and left on the skins for an average of 15 days. Fermentation in our open top fermenters was allowed to peak at 32° to extract maximum colour and flavour. The wine was then pressed on the skins and part of the blend went into oak barrels for eight months.
