Crafted by hand, Deanston Virgin Oak is first matured in ex-bourbon casks from a family run cooperage in Kentucky, creating its fruity and zesty character. This golden spirit is then finished in Virgin Oak casks, adding a gorgeous subtle spicy aroma and complexity.
Deanston whiskies are well known also for that lovely waxy character, much like a Clynelish. Deanston whiskies are truly Scotland’s best kept secret.
NOSE: Heady virgin oak, bursting with lemon zest and sweet barley sugar, with delicious notes of bananas, apple and nutmeg.
PALATE: A delightful sweetness, evoking memories of candied fruits and vanilla toffee, balanced with heather honey.
FINISH: A satisfying waxy spice, with a rewarding burst of honeyed malt and sweet oakiness.

The Deanston Distillery sits on the banks of the River Teith, located not far from Stirling and Perth in Scotland. A very picturesque distillery, this distillery was not originally built as a distillery but as a cotton mill.
In its hey day, this cotton mill employed up to 1,500 people. When the cotton mill faced an uncertain future in 1965, it was taken over and converted into this amazing distillery. The old weaving mills of the distillery, now, the unique warehouses where Deanston whiskies are matured.
